Cannabis Industry Recruiting
Is your company in need of a qualified and experienced cannabis industry recruiter?
After years of working with all levels of job seekers in the cannabis industry, I’ve built up an extensive database and vast network of accomplished candidates from all across the US and Canada. And the word must have got out about that too, because before I knew it I had all sorts of companies coming to me and asking if I could help them fill their open positions. From dispensary managers to master growers to brand ambassadors, I was getting requests for them all. So it just made sense for me to start offering cannabis recruiting services, in a freelance capacity, and to help connect my resume clients with the companies that so desperately needed them.
Since then I have worked with a wide variety cannabis businesses, both small and large, helping them to plug a hole or meet a need that they couldn’t otherwise meet on their own. I feel that my years of past experience as an executive recruiter, coupled with my strong background as a cannabis resume writer and candidate advocate, afford me a unique perspective and allow me to more accurately match up the needs of the employer with the skill sets of the applicants.
So if you represent a company that’s in need of a quality cannabis industry recruiter, look no further. I offer extremely competitive rates, much lower than other cannabis recruiting agencies, and I also work on a non-exclusive “contingency” basis, which means that you don’t pay me unless you hire a candidate that I send you and you’re also free to utilize as many other resources as you want to assist with your search.
Marijuana Dispensary Recruiting
Just like any retail operation, there are countless jobs within a marijuana dispensary and sometimes it can be hard to find the right person. A Dispensary Manager, for instance, has to be experienced in stuff like purchasing, inventory, quality control, team building, etc, but they also need to know a lot about cannabis and the products they’re selling. So how do you find someone with those unique skill sets?
Well, that’s where a good cannabis industry recruiter comes in. I’ve worked with all levels of dispensary professionals – from executives down to budtenders – and I have a growing “stable” of qualified candidates that I can call upon all across the US and Canada.

Cannabis Cultivation Recruiting
It is absolutely paramount that you hire the right people to handle your cultivation, extraction, and other production operations, for very obvious reasons. After all, these people literally control your fate since they control the health and well-being of your most valuable assets…your plants. So you need people with a green thumb, maybe even a horticultural degree, and it would be nice if they also had years of experience cultivating high-quality cannabis. But where are you going to find someone like that? Especially since cannabis just became legal in most places?
Some companies are paying big money these days to relocate Master Growers from states like California and Colorado to states like Ohio or New Jersey, but to be perfectly honest that isn’t always necessary. Sure, it may be the right move in some scenarios, however I’m constantly amazed at the diamonds in the rough and the amount of high-quality candidates that may be right there in your own back yard. And I know this because I write their resumes! You might be surprised to find that there are some very talented people who have been able to successfully transfer their previous “black market” skills to the new legal marijuana market.
My point here is that with the right help (me), you may not need to pay to relocate a good candidate, or pay outrageous fees for other recruiters or job board sites. I might have the person you’re looking for right here in my database, just waiting for us to make the connection and to pull the trigger. But we’ll never know unless we try, so feel free to reach out and tell me all about your hiring needs.

Other Cannabis Industry Recruiting
As with most industries, there are literally hundreds of potential jobs in medical marijuana and cannabis, too many to list. However, I guarantee my database and network of qualified candidates includes every single one of them. As a resume writer, I have worked with every level of job seeker, from entry-level to executive, and as a cannabis industry recruiter I have worked with farms, indoor grow operations, extraction labs, dispensaries, and various other ventures to help them meet all their staffing needs.
So if your business has a staffing need, any need at all, let me know. And before you speak with other cannabis recruiting agencies, at least give me a shout. I would be happy to see if I can be of assistance and save you a little $ in the process.

Rates & Services
If you wanted to engage other cannabis industry recruiters for a contingency search, you could expect to pay upwards of 20% of the candidates first year salary as a “placement fee”, which is actually pretty standard across most industries. However, those companies all have a lot of overhead and I don’t, so I’m able to offer my clients an extremely discounted rate of only 10% of the candidates first year salary.
As an example of how that works, if you hire a Master Grower that I submitted to you at a first-year salary of $70k, then the “placement fee” would only be $7k for that hire (as opposed to $14K+), and payment would be due within 30 days of that person’s start date. Then there’s a 90-day guarantee as well, so if for any reason things don’t work out in the first 3 months then the placement fee would be refunded.
My services as a freelance recruiter for your company would include a comprehensive pre-screening and interview of all candidates along with a customized write-up on each person outlining their strengths and qualifications for the position in question. Then I will serve as a sort of liaison throughout the entire hiring process, and try my best to guide both parties towards a mutually agreeable conclusion (be it yay or nay).
